MDF

Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) is one of the premier substrates for wood veneer and decorative surfacing. Its workability, dimensional stability, flatness, close tolerances, and resistance to grain telegraphing have made it widely accepted in both residential and commercial applications.

MDF is engineered from highly refined wood fibers into an extremely dense panel that is smooth, uniform in thickness, and machines more like solid wood compared to particleboard or veneer cores. This makes it ideal for precision cutting, shaping, and finishing.

▪ Superior adhesion for lay ups ▪ Cost savings  ▪ Dimensional stability  ▪ Efficient finishing

AVAILABLE OPTIONS

  • Regular: Standard, smooth, and dense.
  • Ultra Lite: A lightweight option that provides easier handling, reduced tool wear, and is ideal where weight reduction is important.
  • Colored MDF: Pigmented throughout the core, ensuring consistent color even after machining or sanding. Available in a variety of tones.
  • Kerfed Core: Pre-cut with kerf grooves to allow flexibility and bending, making it suitable for curved or radius applications.
  • Fire Rated: Treated for fire resistance, making it suitable for applications where building codes or safety standards require flame-retardant materials. We stock manufactured fire-rated panels from Roseburg (Medite® FR).
  • Moisture Resistant: Enhanced with water-repelling resins, designed to perform better in humid or damp interior environments such as kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry areas. We stock Roseburg (Medex® MR) panels in both MR10 and MR50 grades, as well as Guararapes (HUC).
  • Embossed: Manufactured with textured or patterned surfaces, ideal for decorative wall panels.
  • NAUF (No Added Urea Formaldehyde): Eco-friendly option designed to meet strict indoor air quality standards by eliminating added urea-formaldehyde resins. Commonly used in commercial interiors, educational, and healthcare environments.
  • NAF (No Added Formaldehyde): A formaldehyde-free alternative made without any added formaldehyde resins, offering the highest level of environmental safety and compliance for green building and LEED-certified projects. We stock Roseburg (Arreis®) panels.
  • FSC® Certified: Sourced from responsibly managed forests, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council®, supporting sustainable forestry practices.
